This blog is an opportunity for both parents and students to keep updated with what is going on in our classroom. This blog is also a parent reference for homework as students are expected to keep track of their homework daily in their agenda books.

This Week
Hey there, everyone!
I'm sure the 7th and 8th Graders are letting out a sigh of relief now that testing is over with. Just a reminder to the 7th Graders : chapter 4 and 5 of City of Ember are due to be read by tomorrow. Please make sure to complete question sheet for those two chapters. That will be a test grade. Bring your books to class as well.
8th Graders: get ready to read one of The Bard's most comical plays -- A Midsummer Night's Dream!
6th Graders: make sure the posters are just about ready to be presented tomorrow. I know some of you just need to glue and that's ok.
5th Graders: our projects will be due at the end of the period tomorrow.
And good luck to the 5th and 6th graders next week on the NJASK!

This Week:
Happy Monday, everyone!
So this week is NJASK testing week for 7th and 8th Graders. I'm still waiting on some of the 7th graders grade folders from last week, so if you happen to see any out there bring them in. 8th Graders will be getting their grade folders today to be signed for HW tonight, other than that, it will be a stress free week in class for them.
6th Grade will be working on Canadian Wilderness topic posters in the ACE lab with their partners for Wednesday and Thursday. The posters are due Friday at the beginning of class. I am also still waiting on some grade folders to be returned from some students.
5th Grade will be reading a story about Don Quixote. They will have a vocab quiz on Wednesday. Instead of a story test this week, students will be working on a poster about Don Quixote's character traits. This is due at the end of class on Friday.

Happy Monday!
Hey there, everyone!
This week is a wrap up week. This is the last week for students to submit any extra credit work that will go towards the 3rd Marking Period grade. One project will add up to 10 points onto a student's lowest test grade, and the other will bring up a missing HW assignment to a 75.
6th graders worked on Acrostic Poems today. If you didn't finish yours in class then it is HW. I will be checking them for completion tomorrow. There is a six letter minimum for the vertical word.
Tomorrow 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be getting grade folders with last week's test and the S.S.R. project rubrics. So ask to see them -- there were a lot of wonderful projects and I was really pleased!
