Midweek News:

5th Graders
5L will be taking their Story/Vocab test on Friday this week. There was an awesome assembly today that cut into out time, so - just to be safe - we will be using tomorrow to go over our notes and vocab for Friday's test.

Here's the agenda for this week...

5th Graders will be reading the story "Lunch Money." An extra copy of the vocab went home today along with their HW -- Author's Purpose worksheet p17 and p18. Their vocab/story test will be Thursday.

6th, 7th, and 8th Graders are working with figurative language this week. Tonight their HW is to complete the Figurative Language worksheet. Their test on figurative language will be on Friday.

The week thus far...

The 5th, 7th, and 8th graders have been doing wonderfully on their Unit Projects. I can't wait to see them completed.

***5th and 7th Graders should be sure to bring their SSR books tomorrow in case they finish up early. *** Three weeks will go by fast -- their SSR book should be read by March 15th!!

6th graders will be working on answering open-ended questions using R.A.C.E. this week. They did wonderfully on their Themed Graffiti Unit Projects and they will be hung up soon!

5th Grade is reading We Were There, Too! Today their home letters went home along with an extra copy of the vocab (So they can study, every day) and their HW -- Compare Contrast WS p18. 7th Graders! We've decided to push back our test since we've been taking our time reading about the strange world of Harrison Bergeron. Our Vocab Test is tomorrow and the Story Test will be pushed back to Monday.

This week's agenda is as follows:

5th Grade will be reading a story called James Forten. Their story test/vocab test is Thursday. Tonight they have a WS on Sequencing Events.

6th Grade has a note quiz tomorrow on the notes we took on the Harlem Renaissance. We'll be working with partners to interpret poetry from Langston Hughes this week.

7th Grade will be reading Harrison Bergeron this week. Their Vocab Test is Thursday and their Story Test is Friday.

8th Grade will continue to work on their identity collages. Projects are due at the beginning of the period Thursday.
