Happy Wednesday!
8 Language Arts:
The students have been busy building their triarams. The triaramas will depict a scene from their first free choice book. I am so excited to see how they turn out!
I also would like to congratulate both eighth grades on earning a bonus day! 8F and 8K will be celebrating their bonus day this Friday!
Vocabulary: 8F and 8K will have their vocabulary test Thursday; voted on by the class. They will be allowed to use their index cards on the test.
**Vocab HW for tonight--> Lesson 7 ex C & D
5P Science:
The scientists have been discovering motion, speed, average speed, and instantaneous speed. Through our wind-up toy lab, they have learned how to measure the distance and time of an object. Tomorrow we will take the distances and times and convert that to speeds. I am so impressed with how hard they have been working!
Science class-No homework tonight!

1. Write one paragraph on three objects you saw in motion on your way to school this morning. Make sure to describe the objects that were in motion

1. Copy all sixteen vocabulary terms from the short story, The Tell-Tale Heart, from the worksheet to the index card
2. Choose a scene from your S.S.R. book for your triarama

Bring home your textbook and define the vocabulary terms from section 1 of chapter 1.
Other news:
-Eighth grade candle orders are due by November 20, 2009. All money must be turned in with order. See Mrs. Carr for info.

1. Report card envelopes due back by Monday, November 9th 2009
2. Class pictures- I took the class picture out of the envelopes. There was a misprint on the class photo. The class photo will be fixed and replaced by the photographer.
Just a reminder, the second marking period is in full swing. Please make sure to stay on top of your assignments.

No school- Thursday and Friday

We have been discovering the world of Edgar Allan Poe. As we learn about his life we are examining how his misfortunes really played a major role in his writings.
No Vocabulary unit this week due to the shortened week. Also Friday folders will not be sent home this week because report cards are being sent home on Wednesday.
No Homework tonight.
5P Science=
We have just begun working on Unit II: Forces and Motion. This week we will be completing activities that introduce us to the text and it's concepts.
No Homework this evening.
Also, no Friday folders this week.
